this past few days have been a blur as Gary passed away on Saturday. He was the love of my life, an amazing father to our children and a great friend and rolemodel to so many people. It's very hard to comprehend, and we are all trying to cope by telling funny stories and memories. And there are lots!!! Just remember that you are missed by all of us and life will not be as bright with you by my side. I will always love you and you will live on in our children!

just wanted to say i`m thinking of you all at this hard time,
couldn`t believe it when i heard of garys passing..its so sad.
i knew gary when he swam in the U.K in the 80`s..he was friends, with good friends of mine( darren and Jonanne)and got to know him through them.

i knew gary when he was swimming at maxwell in the uk back in the 80's . He was a big roll model to me as my father was his coach and all i wanted at the time was to be as hard working and dedicated as gary was , he was my friend and a friend to many others back here in the uk

Annika, I am a Brother-In Law of Ben McCarthy, Nick Penze's Friend. I skied with Gary in Aspen a few years ago. It was very nice to get to know him. I wish you all the strength in the Universe, now and in the future. Phil Gruber

Gary was extremely loved by the Peck family! We had SO many great times with him ... words cannot express how much we will miss him in our lives. We will always be close by for you Annika, Hayden and Emmie. You 3 are a part of OUR family.

We were watching the Olympics and wondered whatever happened to my sons' old coach, Gary. We were so shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. He was Kenny's first coach when we moved to Athens, Georgia, in 1993 and he helped so much with the transition to a new swim club. He was a wonderful coach and the kids really loved him. We have some old photos and perhaps some videos, and I would like to forward them to you when we find them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
